Railway

Railway Transport is one of the key elements of the transport system in TRACECA countries. Railway transportation at medium and long distances (especially in countries without the sea) cargo transportation amount and the amount of load traffic, reliability, regularity and load and passenger transportation of the year in the season conditions of the year, which do not change according to the weather, compared with other transportation modes) With its capacity and small power density of the transportation process (6 times than air transport, there is a less power consumption of power 3 times than road transport).

The advantage of railway transportation is the cheapness in the load traffic that is very important for the transportation of unprocessed substances and semi -processed products. Successful large load circulation depends on the efficient railway infrastructure. Railway vehicles, especially wagon maintenance should be given more importance.

In addition to all these, according to last IGC meeting and the tRACECA network map in accordance with the relevant methodology, Türkiye's 3 border gates (Kapıkule, Kapıköy, Canbaz) railway network (import-export-explosion- Transit) is 4.274,980 tons and 222.811 TEU on the TRACECA route.

TRACECA countries adopt the following 3 main objectives in order to have a larger and more active role in the multi -mod transportation chain of railways:

* Structural reforms are put forward to strengthen the efficiency and financial status of railway systems;
* Making carefully planned investments to improve the potential of the railway system in the multi -moded network in the infrastructure;
* Encouraging cooperation in the railway system in order to improve the efficiency of international railway services between TRACECA countries and the EU.
