The development of the transportation of the European-Caucasus-Asian Corridor on international transportation is to increase the competitive capacity of maritime transport in the TRACECA transport corridor within the framework of the basic multilateral agreement (MLA) and the importance of maritime transportation in the field of maritime. Important ports throughout the TRACECA corridor are: Ilichevsk (Ukraine), Constantsa (Romania), Varna, Burgaz (Bulgaria), Izmir, Derince, Haydarpasa, Samsun, Bandırma, Mersin, Iskenderun (Türkiye), Poti and Batumi (Georgia), Baku International Maritime Trade Port (Azerbaijan), Aktau Maritime Trade Port (Kazakhstan), Turkmenbasi (Turkmenistan).
TRACECA program includes maritime projects in technical and investment projects. TRACECA countries face the leading role in maritime transport and the development of multimodal transportation, and therefore, new steps should be taken in the development of efficient transportation system and the progress of the economic potential of TRACECA member states.
In addition to all these, according to the traceca network map that were accepted at the last IGC meeting of Türkiye and appropriate to the relevant methodology, the load volume of the total carried by maritime from the ports on the TRACECA route (import-import-transit) is 4.231.508 tons and 34.748 TEU.
