Land transportation is a very important part of multimodal transportation, as multimodal transportation will be a permanent road foot at a national or international level. In addition to its importance in the multimodal transportation chain, it is the only transportation mode that provides directly to the country, the EU or a third country to another TRACECA country, from the main point of a particular country of TRACECA.
In this context, it is necessary to optimize the highway freight transport sector in the TRACECA region to save time and expenses in terms of multimodal transportation. Such developments are necessary for both national and international levels. It is recommended that progress will be through two escalas; Restructuring of National Road Transportation at the national level and reshaping the international road transport agreements between countries.
Unlike transit, including the same legislature, including customs laws, the motor transportation along the TRACECA corridor requires the joint decision of many transit countries. The land transport projects in the TRACECA program are not only directed towards this purpose, but also to improve road infrastructure.
In addition to all these, Türkiye's total highway network length along the TRACECA route is 11,572 km, which was adopted at the last IGC meeting of Türkiye and appropriate to the relevant methodology. According to the relevant methodology, the total number of expeditions made with the TRACECA countries (including transit) by road (based on export and import volume) is 396,935.
